An Instagram Week// Drunk Elephant and more.

Hope you are all having a good week. I think Instagram has always been one of my favourite social media forms because its such a beautifully curated collection of someone’s life and day. I’m still learning all the tips and tricks that other bloggers have to offer and am making it a goal to upload at least once a day. Depending on how things go, I may make these blog posts a weekly thing. Sometimes I don’t really want to entirely review a product in a post and simply make an update on Insta. So this will hopefully be a good way to reflect on my favourite products, outfits and places.

YES. I tried my very first Drunk Elephant skincare… and its probably not going to be the last. I adore this cream. This is the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream which claims to contain 5 rare african oils. If you adore rich and thick creams that really seal in the moisture, then this is for you. Keep in mind that I have oily/acne prone skin that fluctuates from being sensitive to dry to oily due to my current Accutane dose. It is heavy but absorbs quickly and really repairs the skin. I think it would be appropriate for most skin types.

I love this cream because it feels so comfortable on my face. It’s such a weird way to describe the cream but my skin just feels so plump and hydrated. I prefer to use it at night and would definitely recommend despite the kinda hefty price tag.

The Heimish All Clean Cleansing Balm has been on my wishlist for a while. It’s been raved by Meejmuse (Youtuber) and I adore her. I think it is very effective at cleansing off all my makeup including waterproof mascara. Double cleansing is so important but I’m fairly relaxed on makeup removers. I end up rinsing them off with my second cleanser which is often a cream/lightly foaming cleanser. But all in all, a very very effective product.

Something kind of strange is happening lately. I’m actually sticking to the same skincare routine. Now, this is probably the most ordinary thing for most people. But over the years, I’ve always wanted to try new things and I’ve never really had a strict routine of products. Part of the reason now is that I’ve found that I truly do enjoy Aesop products. While a lot of people will argue that Aesop isn’t exactly natural, I just love for the effect it has on my skin… and the heavenly scent of the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm. It’s such a treat to use every night before bed and it is so Instaworthy. Let’s be honest here. I also have the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash. Such a decadent product but once again, smells exactly like the balm and is heavenly.

The other two products are skincare. I’ve been using the Aesop Parsley Seed Serum and the Aesop Blue Camomile Hydrating Mask. The serum is a repurchase and is aloe vera based. I like it because I feel like it calms my skin and brightens it a little. It doesn’t provide hydration so I do layer the product (with a lot of others in my long skincare routine 🙂 ) The mask is moisturising, brightening and so far so good.

This Jurlique Activating Water Essence, I have been using for the last 5 months or so. I like it enough to use it but I’m not necessarily in love. I do love the brand and haven’t had anything I’ve disliked. It provides light hydration, it brightens a bit but also makes my skin feel a bit tacky. It’s still a good product and I’ve been enjoying it.

Nothing new here. Tried and true. See reviews on my blog for all^.

This was my favourite place I went this week. It’s a small cafe located at Kiribilli in Sydney. I took a ferry ride with my best friend and we caught up for brunch. The owners were really nice, it had a chill/ laidback vibe and I will definitely be back. Look how beautiful it is!

So theres me for the week. A couple new beauty products, some staples from my routine and a beautiful visit to a new place.

What did you do this week? Any new beauty discoveries? Let me know down below <3
