Current Beauty Setup: Gosh Banana powder, Colourpop and Byredo

I’ve fallen in love with so many new beauty products while travelling the last month and some of them things I’ll be using for long after my travels have ended. I’m going to do a short review of the banana powder from GOSH, a Colourpop eyeshadow favourite that has been very versatile as well as a new fragrance that has re-sparked my love of wearing perfumes.

GOSH Prime N Set Primer & Mattifying Setting Powder Base

What a name! I was intrigued that this powder is meant to be both a setting powder in the typical sense and also a primer in one. While the banana powder trend seems to have died down a little, I’ve always been intrigued in colour correcting and the concept of a yellow powder to get rid of excessive redness. So far, I really like this powder as it leaves the skin feeling silky just like a silicone based primer does. It also keeps the skin fairly matte which is a plus in my books. Overall, it’s a great product and one I would highly recommend at the affordable price point. It’s hard to purchase GOSH in Australia but it’s readily available in BOOTS and Superdrug in the UK.

Colourpop favourite of the month: Eyeshadow in Valleygirl

I have a very simple makeup routine most days but a shimmery beige shadow is always a must. And oh so versatile! I’ve used this as a shadow, as a brow bone highlight and an overall highligher. It’s easy to apply with my fingers and is so small that it’s perfect for on the go or travelling.

Byredo Gypsy Water

Byredo is a brand that I’ve heard a lot about. I was intrigued but never wanted to splurge and spend the very expensive price tag for a fragrance. I’m trying to cull my fragrance collection down and have been fairly successful, hence the treat. Gypsy water is different to anything else I have- it’s peppery, has clear citrus notes and has clear vanilla and musk notes in there. It’s a very light and subtle and is unique to anything I’ve smelt before. And can we talk about how beautiful Byredo bottles are on your nightstand!

Overall, August has been a good month for discovering some beauty gems! I’ve cleaned out my collection of products (gotten rid of things I never use) and am getting excited about beauty products all over again!
