Surprise, surprise- it’s another Everlane review and this time it’s the Everlane silk cami which I’ve heard a lot about from those who blog about Everlane. It’s nice and slinky and is one of my more minimal items and perfect to throw on during those casual days where you still want to look nice and effortless. The sage green Everlane silk cami was so stunning and was the reason I decided to try the style! I thought it would be perfect styled with a white midi skirt (my spring uniform pretty much).
The silk cami is completely lined which is nice but I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it without a bandeau or bra. The straps are a bit long on me and occasionally slide off. In the pictures, I’m wearing it with a lace bandeau (which you can’t really see). I will note that the straps are not adjustable which is good and bad. It’s good because I don’t really like the look of adjustable straps (it looks a bit cheap imo) BUT if you’re short like me, then the strap size might be an issue as it hangs just a tad too low. Nothing that can’t be taken up so I’ll be doing that as soon as I can be bothered!
The silk material like all Everlane silk is very luxurious. If you’ve read any of my other Everlane silk reviews such as the Slim Silk Shirt review (click here for review), you’ll know that I love Everlane silk and it is just so luxurious. It’s feels a tad sueded and is very different to some of Grana’s silk e.g. their silk culottes (read review here– which feels more satin like). All in all, the silk is so beautiful and drapes really nicely when tucked into a skirt. It does crease quite easily at the point where you tuck the cami but that’s to be expected.
The sizing is a 00, their smallest size. I’m normally a US size 2, an AU size 6 so I definitely think Everlane sizing runs big but this is true to my normal Everlane size. I always get either an 00 or a XS. I say this everytime but make sure you check the reviews to get an idea of the size you should be ordering.
- A summer staple
- Lovely silk material that’s very comfortable in heat
- Beautiful minimal design
- Straps are a bit too long (I’m 160 cm, 5’3)
- Silk does require maintenance
How I style
With the Spring and Summer season rolling around in Australia, I’m very very very excited to be styling this in more ways. As seen in the photos, white skirt is a go to, and I have a few variations of white skirts (an addiction of mine). I’ve also worn these with jeans (the Everlane Jeans!). I can also imagine this cami looking good with denim skirts and shorts as a casual throw on look!
