I’ve never been a t-shirt kinda girl but lately it’s all I’ve been wearing on those lazy casual days- the one I’m reviewing today is Everlane’s box- cut pocket tee. This is one area of my wardrobe that I really try to make an effort to shop from ethical and responsible businesses. Because, let’s face it. You can find a good cotton white tee in so many different places and they’re almost, almost indistinguishable from each other. While I’m all about supporting ethical fashion and small designers, some plain, white t-shirts come at prices I just can’t bear to part with (upwards of 70 AUD). The Everlane is under 20 and sits happily in my price range.
Okay, so this is going to be a short and sweet review. It’s a basic tee. It’s 100% cotton, it’s soft and has lasted so, so many washes. It’s a mid weight tee- not the super slinky type that feels almost flowy, nor is it a heavy cotton like the CDG tees. The pocket on the chest gives it that super relaxed feeling which is very charming about the tee. The cotton is definitely on the thinner side but at the same time, it isn’t transparent. It is a boxy fit but Everlane does typical crew neck tees, oversized u-necks and pretty much every cut you can think of.
I’m a bit clumsy and I’ve gotten all kinds of stains from makeup to food on this tee and it’s washed off like a dream. While over washing clothes can wear things out faster, I haven’t been careful at all about throwing this tee into the wash.
I love styling it with lots of dainty little gold necklaces. I’ve been in love with Mejuri and I’ve loved pairing their little chokers with this tee. In the photos, I paired the tee with Grana’s culottes and Vince Mules. This is one of my favourite simple outfits as it is just so effortless and comfortable during the hot weather.
