If there are three fashion items that I have loved this season, then it’s all in this one outfit; the straw and bamboo bag trend, mules and of course pink. This outfit of the day made me feel so summery on a ‘warm ish’ Winter day.
The dress is a good length, has a pretty flower print and is quite flattering on due to the tie waist detail. I’m making an attempt to try and incorporate nicer materials into my wardrobe and while this is not one, it does not feel overly suffocating like some polyester materials I’ve worn before.
I went back and forth contemplating the cult gaia bag. I really did like the style and it wasn’t just because it’s the ‘it’ bag. I decided against it because in all honesty it probably wouldn’t be the most sensible purchase(not that it has stopped me before) given that it’s hand held and has well… gaps in the bag. I ended up settling for a cute ASOS straw bag with gingham detailing which was the cherry on top. I thought it would be a good one for whenever I needed to carry a little more in the summer as most of my bags are teeny tiny.
These gold bow mules are so shiny and easy to wear. While gold shoes is not the most subtle of colours, it works surprisingly well with most outfits without being too obnoxious and loud. I absolutely adore that they have the adorable little bow which I’ve seen in quite a few designs lately. Backless means that it’s incredibly comfortable and definitely won’t cause any blisters on a long walking day.
I tried to style the dress in different ways by changing up the jackets and to make the summery dress (*slightly) more Autumn/ Winter appropriate. I paired it with a classic denim jacket as well as a longline apricot coloured knit.
Definitely plan on putting this outfit on repeat when Sydney turns warm again. For now, I can only stare at the pink and red dresses building up in my closet and think how many picnics and summer outings I actually go on to justify it all!
