Review: Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Powder Highlighter

The Benefit Dandelion highlighter has become such a staple in my morning makeup routine and I thought I would do a review of this beauty. It is the prettiest highlighter that is incredibly subtle with no glitter. It’s a soft pink that mimics your skin tone but with a very reflective sheen once applied. It doesn’t accentuate any imperfections on the skin and it’s perfect for everyday ‘no makeup’ makeup. The finely milled texture makes it very blendable on the skin and I imagine it will work well with most skin tones. It’s a highlighter that can also be applied on top of blushes and powders as a light dusting all over because it is soo subtle but definitely noticeable. Just a bit of a healthy radiance.

I did a quick little comparison with some other popular highlighters such as Mac Soft and Gentle, Nars Albatross and Colourpop Scrumptious. The undertone of this highlighter is definitely pinker than the others. It’s the most subtle once on the skin and the closest dupe is Colourpop Scrumptious. Although, Scrumptious is not as finely milled. Scrumptious is also a lot more dramatic.

I’ve always wanted to try a benefit boxed product because let’s admit it, the packaging is way too cute to pass up. I’ve had one of their palettes before which featured five blushes and one bronzer in a tin which is far less visually appealing (not that it SHOULD matter, but it does :P).

I’ve really been on a highlighter kick and eyeing up the Stila Kitten highlighter that seems to have been all the rage, as well as finally trying the Becca Liquid Skin Perfectors. I will definitely do a highlighter collection (there’s only really four) but to go into a but more depth and do some actual makeup photos 🙂 So lookout for that one as well! <3

Hi Hellen,
thank you for sharing this. I have used the Dandelion some time ago and totally forget about it.
Have a nice weekend. Love, Esther

I loved the original dandelion powder and I love this highlighter version too! My favourite highlighter at the moment though is Becca Opal in the liquid formula. It’s definitely one you can go wild or subtle with.

This powder looks very cute I simply love the packaging and also that Dandelion makes it even more attractive! I cannot say that I am a big fan of powders but this looks worth to give a try. I already checked the website of producers and there even more interesting products.

This highlighter sounds so nice and I’m really into the more pinker highlighters atm. I love benefits pretty packaging too although I think I may have to buy the Cheek Parade blush and bronzer palette as it’s such good value for money! Great post.

I’m usually not the biggest Benefit fan, but I have to admit this highlighter is particularly tempting to me! I only like subtle, non glittery highlighters and with the current trend of making it so obvious, it has been difficult to find one which doesn’t do that! I also love the shade! Great review 🙂
